December

December already! December was characterized by unpacking, Northgate 1st ward Christmas party and Family. It was wonderful.

Moving around the holidays isn't fun-but it was really nice to be in our house with all our decorations up. It made it feel like home very quickly.
We were in charge of the decorations for our ward's Christmas party this year. We actually changed wards with our move, but decided to stay through the end of the year-mostly for this party! The theme was A Night in Bethlehem and we had a lot of fun creating Bethlehem in the cultural hall. We had the program in the chapel at the outset. Lucy was Mary in the children's nativity which as very exciting. After a few musical numbers, the nativity and some caroling Danny and I opened the accordian doors and everyone came into the Bethlehem.  We had Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus sitting right under the central star-it was a really nice moment.
The entrance was Danny's masterpiece.

We had "Shepherd's games" in the corner-it was a real hit. The kids loved the stick pull and the preschoolers and toddlers played blocks and did the bean bag toss.
We asked families to decorate the food tents and I made signs for each of them-the title was in English with the Hebrew equivalent above it. (This cous cous sign isn't a good example of that:)

Someone lent us this beautiful manger-it looked beautiful.

We were so relieved when the party was over! We simply had fun the rest of the month. One Sunday Katy joined us to watch The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Lucy and Danny just finished reading it together so a movie viewing was in order:)
Putting up lights with Danny:)
