Leinfam Reunion

We always have so much fun on reunions. We have missed our cousins in Virginia so much this year that we were just thrilled to play with them for a whole week. We went to Donner lake, which we had never really explored before so it was fun to see new things.

We arrived on the fourth of July. These cute girls were very patriotic:)

That first day we headed to the pool and made tie dye shirts that we wore throughout the week.

 

Donner Lake!

We had the BEST day at Kingsbeach. We tried later to determine what made it so ideal: perfect weather, shallow water that went on for 50 yards, perfect sand, few people, a big sun canopy and cousins=perfection. We also rented some jet skis and took turns taking the kids around the lake for 10 minute intervals. Lucy was pretty brave even though I tried to scare her. Danny did a great job scaring me:)

We have great cousins. At one point I looked around and Spencer was playing catch with Joyce and Conner was building a tower with Lyd. How many big 10 and 8 year olds play with their little girl cousins so nicely? Then later about 8 kids jumped on Danny's SUP and paddled around the lake-they are the cutest.

These two mostly played in the sand. They played so well together. I'm loving the age of 3.

 

Of course we had to stop at the Charpit while we were over there:)

After long days at the beach these girls enjoyed very bubbly baths.

One afternoon Aunt Lindsay suggested we have a Princess Academy for all the girls. It was so much fun and ended up lasting over two hours:) First they decorated crowns. Then I instructed them in poise and general manners.  Emily taught them how to properly set a table and what it means to be a good hostess. They also were taught about proper tea service and took turns serving hot chocolate to each other. Afterwards we did makeup and manicures while Lindsay talked to them about modesty and self esteem. Finally, Queen Grandma Marilyn presented each girl with a ribbon wand to the graduation march. The whole things was adorable and they LOVED it. When I asked Lucy what she learned later she told me that what really matters is her personality and that dressing modestly shows self respect=thanks Lindsay!

On our last day we went up to Northstar to hike. Everyone loved riding the gondola. The big kids also took a chair lift ride and Camile and Lucy were pretty freaked out by it:) We were planning on going on a little hike but as we got off the chair lifts it started pouring rain. We tried to wait it out but the rain just kept coming so we eventually headed down the lifts again, afraid that any lightning would stop the lifts. One lift down the rain stopped and we went on little hike. Danny and the little kids and I bailed pretty quick and ended up eating pizza down at the resort instead:)
