The Anderson Family Reunion in Star Harbor is always my favorite week of the year. We've been going tot eh same condo for the last five years now and we have a pretty good routine going. We eat a delicious breakfast by Mom, go boating, eat lunch while drinking ridiculous amounts of soda, go swimming, then relax until dinner and kid bedtime. This year we spent the evenings forcing ourselves to play games, realizing Andersons don't play games well together, and watching our favorite episodes of X Files instead. It was delightful.
This year Dad bought a new kayak just for the kids. We thought only Lucy would get into it, but all the four year olds figured it out as well. The lake was super low this year which, while sad, was great for the little girls boating. We had quite a beach below the condo and could walk out alongside the boaters quite aways.
We spent one day at Sand Harbor enjoying a different beach and hit up our favorite Char Pit on the way home.
Mornings on the water. We occasionally enticed Mom and Katy out from wherever they were reading and got them to join us:)
Legos in the afternoon!
One day we drove down to Emerald Bay and hiked down the Vikingsholm. We took turns kayaking out to the tea house on a nearby island and climbing up to the folly. It was beautiful and really fun. By the time Mom, Dad and Joyce went out, however, it started seriously pouring rain! They came back soaked:) Many of us took the t
Pool in the afternoon! It was always a little too cold to swim...didn't bug the kids but Grandpa was being super nice to get in with them.
Biked along the Truckee river to Squaw Valley on a gorgeous day and discovered Twix Ice cream at the 7-11 there:)
Corn Hole in the evenings.
On Friday it was Jane's 2nd birthday! We celebrated with a Star Wars themed day.
Kissing Lando
It was so fun watching Jane open presents. She hugged everything she got. Jane is the cutest.
Until Next year Star Harbor!
