My last post was about how uneventful and relaxing December had been. After I pushed "publish" it got crazy. With Bryce and Ariel arriving on the 20th, a bridal shower on the 21st, Christmas, leaving for Utah on the 26th, wedding on the 28th and reunion going all the way through January 3rd-life was wonderfully full and busy.
This year we decorated FOUR Christmas trees. Our house had two, our tree and Grandma's cute tree. We also went over and helped both sets of grandparents decorate their trees. My girls are officially pro decorators.
We spent several fun evenings playing with family.
My girls love Grandma Marilyn's "Christmas dressups" and decided that they could all be Mary.
We had our annual Christmas music party with Grandma Joyce and Grandma and Grandpa Jacobs. This is the first year Lucy could really follow along in our song book. Joyce was determined to follow her example.
Grandma Karen took the day off school to take Lucy on the Polar Express! They drove to Old Sacramento and boarded the train headed to the North Pole! Both wore their jammies and enjoyed a cookie, hot chocolate and North Pole sighting. Lucyw as thrilled when Santa Claus himself boarded the train and gave her a silver bell. Mom said hearing the train car filled with bell ringing was magical:)
Lucy performed in a "Nutcracker in a day" show one afternoon and loved it. The next day I found this old VHS version that I watched countless times growing up. It still worked and Lucy watched the whole thing mesmerized:)
That is the ONLY version of The Nutcracker. Isn't that my man Mikhail?
