I dread the kids going back to school each fall. For me it means back to a imposed schedule, homework and just more of a day to day grind. This year was especially nerve wracking (mostly for me) because Lucy was starting 3rd grade at a new school. The Sunday before we had our back to school dinner (which in our house is a totally normal dinner with paper crowns). The little girls were very excited that this year they got to wear Preschool crowns. After dinner Danny gave the girls blessings in preparation for the school year. More than anything I want to remember whole incredibly reverent my little girls were. They took it so seriously-it was incredibly cute.
Lucy said she felt less nervous about the school year after her blessing. I certainly did:) Every year I get a little nervous before school starts and it takes me a couple days to realize that Lucy is not me. She is way more outgoing, social and well adjusted than I was/am. Lucy had a great first day at Valle Verde. She is in Mrs. Smith's 3rd grade class. There were a bunch of kids that were new to the school this year so she did not feel like the only one who was a little lost. She is sitting in the back of the classroom at a fun table of girls and has made several good friends already:)
We love walking to school! It takes about 10 minutes-it is so nice not to have to get in the car to go get Lucy.
With Lucy is school again it is just these two cuties (and Jack most of the time). One Friday we met Grandpa Greg at the mall and helped him pick out some new glasses. It was Force Friday when they released all the toys for the new movie-we loved hanging out in the Disney store and checking out all the new things!
One Saturday we fixed up Grandma Joyce's flower baskets. Playing in the water was a thrill with this terrible drought.
After Labor Day the little girls started preschool at Mrs. Perona's! They were SO excited.
