Halloween 2013

We start talking about Halloween in August around here. On the last Sunday in September the Halloween decorations go up and we start the Halloween crafting. This year the babies were old enough to be very excited about it.

We started the costume-wearing festivities this year by going to a party at the Disney store with Aunt Katy and Grandma Karen! Lucy wore her Ariel costume and we put the babies in princess dress-up dresses. We decorated bags with Sulley and Mike faces from Monsters Inc. and went trick-or-treating around the store. Then we walked around in a costume parade! I love every excuse for the kids to wear their costumes around and we had a lot of fun.

This was the first year I actually enjoyed carving pumpkins. Lucy is finally old enough that she does the gross part-emptying out her pumpkin-all by herself. She even did mine for me!
 Katy's Dr. Who themed pumpkin:)

Lucy carved this pumpkin all by herself! She was very proud of the long eyelashes she added.
The babies got dressed up for Music Makers the day before Halloween. Joyce is Little Bo Peep and Lydia is Cinderella.
On Halloween night Lucy got all dressed up in her Ariel costume!
Marilyn and Steve met us at our house and drove with us to Castro Valley where Danny was passing out candy at the shopping center he manages. It was fun to see where he spends so much time. There were a TON of people trick or treating and the kids had a fun time seeing Dad. Danny's coworkers got a kick out of Danny-he knew who everyone was dressup up as-be it an action hero or Sofia the First:)

We drove home and went trick or treating. The only pick I got of them was at Aunt Sally's house, but we akso drove over the Grandma and Grandpa Jacobs and went trick or treating in their neighborhood.

The best part-the sorting!!
