My Ballerina

This past week Lucy had her ballet recital. In February she started with Heather Simmons Ballet and we've really liked it. Lucy has been in various ballet classes since she was three, but this year I really noticed a change in her dancing. She is very graceful and really knows her positions. She was in the 8-9 year old class this year, so she'll probably be in that class for a couple more years and have time to perfect the craft:)

She practiced her routine at home the week before the recital because it was a very big deal to her that her teacher wouldn't be there to help them. She loved getting this beautiful costume.

Our family took up the whole front row. Danny and I were joined by both sets of grandparents, Aunt Katy, Uncle Luke and his kids and Grandma Joyce.  The babies loved seeing the dancing and watched excitedly the whole time. While Joyce was content to watch, whenever there was a break in the dancing Lydia hopped up and did some of her own ballet moves. Of course I got no good pics (but plenty of video:) of the recital but here she is afterward with Camille.
